S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Cancelled; Please Read

So, earlier tonight at around 11PM I opened up S.T.E.A.L.T.H. to work on it some more and, lo and behold, my GameMaker file only had everything from the intro movie. So I go to open the backup file. It's gone. Same with the base file.

What does this mean?

Windows Vista deleted most of my main file and my entire backup and base files. How do I know it was Vista? It's been doing this since I got it. Seems that it applies to everything in the Program Files folder (Seems you're supposed to put everything in the Program Files (x86) folder with Vista 64 bit).

So I hope nobody was really anticipating this game. The only way for me to make it now would be to completely restart from the ground up.

S.T.E.A.L.T.H. is nearing completion!

First thing's first: I cannot confirm a release date at the moment, but I can say with confidence that you will see the full version of S.T.E.A.L.T.H. released late November 2009 or early December 2009. Like Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed 2, I have chosen to remain bold and see my game as a worthy competitor to Modern Warfare 2, as I have not pushed it back to 2010!

I can also confirm that S.T.E.A.L.T.H. will have 30-40 levels. "Well after more than a year in development, it had better have 30-40 levels!" says you. Well I'd just like to say that your ambitions are not that high, which worries me. Regardless, it's nice to know that you have a somewhat high level of anticipation for my game. That makes me smile. :)

I'll post again when I come up with a definitive release date.

S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Update and Another Song from Deadly Disks!

I'd just like to inform all readers of this blog that S.T.E.A.L.T.H. is still underway and actively in development. I plan to have the full game out sometime next month. I've been having some issues with the C4 mechanic, and as a result, you will be required to place the C4 in the room in order to leave, as opposed to it being an option.

In other news, I've released yet another song onto the Wii's GHTunes. This time, it's Doomsday Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You should be able to download this song from Guitar Hero Metallica or Guitar Hero World Tour.

New song from Deadly Disks

It's been a while since I've added any new songs to Guitar Hero World Tour's GHTunes service. Mainly because I was unable to come up with new material and I had been busy playing Rock Band 2 (and working on STEALTH, of course). So I just spent the last 3 hours working on and perfecting a new song for the Wii version of Guitar Hero World Tour.

The song is called "Sky High". It's a remake of this song from the Kirby games:

Such an awesome song, too. I plan to have a Youtube video of the song up ASAP.

Introducing S.T.E.A.L.T.H.'s C4 Mechanic

I'm currently in the processing of implementing what I call a "C4 Mechanic" into S.T.E.A.L.T.H.. Later levels of the game will require you to plant a C4 charge in a specified area, which is marked in the room by a colored box, called the "C4 Target". You can only plant a C4 charge while in one of these boxes. You can also only plant one C4 charge per level. If an enemy spots your C4 charge, you get the same effect as you would when you're spotted. Levels that require C4 charges to be planted will generally have multiple target areas. You must choose a target zone that cannot be seen by hostile units, all while avoiding being spotted.

When I have my new StealthC4 Engine working, I'll post some screenshots and maybe a video.

Speaking of videos, I plan to make a video walkthrough for the demo for S.T.E.A.L.T.H.. This will make more people aware of the game's existence as well as assist incredibly irritated players who are upset about the high level of difficulty, lol.

EDIT: I have decided to make the C4 mechanic optional. If you plant enough C4, you'll get a different ending cinematic.

REPLAY VALUE WENT UP +7 :D

First trailer for "S.T.E.A.L.T.H.: Source" Released

I've gotten fed up with GameMaker. It's just not the kind of game engine for a stealth game. I've been experimenting with Hammer recently. Hammer is the free and official level/mod creator program for all Source engine games. This means Half Life 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, etc.

I've been using my incredibly awesome programming and modeling skills to create a total conversion for Half Life 2. Essentially, S.T.E.A.L.T.H. with coolness.

Also, I've re-uploaded the demo for S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Hopefully it'll work now.

S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Demo unplayable on Windows XP

I've been informed, and have confirmed personally, that the S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Demo will not work on Windows XP. I'm attempting to resolve this, and I'll post again when I release the update.

S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Demo Updated

I have updated the S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Demo with several improvements. You can now skip the intro by pressing any key on the keyboard, and when you get caught, you restart the room after clicking "OK", as opposed to the previous consequence, which was restarting the entire game. I am still considering adding lives to the game, but I want some feedback on the updated demo first.

S.T.E.A.L.T.H. Demo released!

I have relesed a demo of the entire first section of S.T.E.A.L.T.H. at the following link:

http://www.yoyogames.com/games/show/66712

All feedback is appreciated, either here or on the page for the game on the YoYoGames site.

As I go into full development of the full game, I will release screenshots of new enemies that I implement (if I do, that is), and I might show off some new levels. The full game will consist of several "sections" which are made up of 10 increasingly harder levels each. What you get in the demo is the entire first section and an ending screen that I made in paintbrush in about 5 minutes.

Enjoy and leave feedback, Link, or you must DIE.
